Description
Despite the increasing volume of books about Arab new media, the world of Arab journalists has remained the center of few academic endeavors. This book provides an innovative study of Arab journalists in transnational media, which are scattered in several cities inside and outside the Arab World such the BBC Arabic (London), Al Jazeera (Doha), and Al Arabiya (Dubai). The books offers an unprecedented discussion about the phenomenon of Arab émigré and transnational media, and an analysis of Arab journalists’ memoirs. It also draws on fieldwork among a sample of Arab journalists in transnational media outlets in order to illustrate their perception of their professions and their role in society.
