ARABIA.pl is the largest Web portal in Poland concerned with Arabic issues. It came into existence on 22 June 2002 in Warsaw. In April 2003 an Arabic version of the portal was launched, covering information about Poland and targeting mainly the Arabic reader. In April 2006 the English version came into being. The editorial team consists of students and graduates from the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Warsaw University, academics from Warsaw University, Lodz University and Warsaw School of Economics, PhD students from these universities, as well as sociologists, political scientists, intercultural relations experts. The aim of Arabia.pl is to inform about the Arabic world. The information provided is obtained from Polish, English as well as Arabic sources. Among the founder members are: prof. dr hab. Janusz Danecki from Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Warsaw University and prof. dr hab. Marek M. Dziekan – the director of the Department of The Middle East and North Africa at Lodz University. ARABIA.pl Association is a noncommercial organisation, based on social work of its members. All funds raised are earmarked for statutory aims of the association.
